Synopsis

Soothebrush is the result of a one week personal project. The prompt was to design a powered or manual toothbrush and to document the process.

Soothebrush is a smart toothbrush that uses a wall-mounted charger to keep counter tops clean and cables organized.

Residential bathrooms have limited counter top space.

Some solutions address counter top clutter, but either can't charge or are restricted to outlet locations.

Smart features could be implemented without adding complications to the brushing experience.

Common problems are not brushing when away from home and forgetting to floss.

Ideation

Proximity - An accessory that facilitates flossing and brushing when away from home.

Soothe - A smart toothbrush that reduces the physical and psychological clutter of current solutions.

Soothebrush blends into the bathroom by using a wall-mounted charge pad to keep counter tops clutter-free.

When in Light mode, the charge pad creates a soothing ambiance at night when ceiling lights can be abrasive.

The charge pad is easily removable from the wall mount for use while traveling.

A smooth, lofted form reduces sharp transitions where grime accumulates over time.

Replaceable brush heads reduce waste.
