Cubecast

Synopsis

The prompt for this 10-week, Senior year student project was to design a capture device.

Video format podcasts are gaining much popularity as most audio streaming services have begun to support video, yet only 17% of podcasts record video as of 2022. This is largely due to most podcasts lacking a recording studio and the difficulty of producing while hosting.

Cubecast seeks to be a podcast studio that can be quickly set up and moved and simplify production for the podcast host.

Easy Production

A 360-degree camera records everyone and simplifies production for the host.

Mobility

A camera and microphone can record to internal storage or wirelessly send data to connected audio interfaces.

Connecting induction pads or daisy-chaining allow for customizable setups and variable amounts of devices.

Avoid distractions and technical errors by controlling the status of all devices in one place.
